A true master of his craft, Nick is one of Granada’s leading professionals in an already stacked roster of first rate joiners and builders. Building work and joinery really is second nature to Nick, following in his family’s tradition of entering the building trade from a young age. After very successfully serving his apprenticeship and gaining his qualifications, Nick was soon snapped up by Granada. It wasn’t long before Nick was running extension/loft conversion projects of all types and sizes and wowing our many clients in the process! Nick is genuinely one of the most pleasant and professional tradesmen you could ever hope to get on your job. A family man through and through, Nick enjoys keeping fit and healthy and going to the gym regularly as well as playing football at weekend.
Matt is one of Granada’s real success stories; having joined the company at just 17 years of age as a fresh faced 2nd year apprentice in 2012 he has developed immensely in the years that have followed, completing his apprenticeship and growing within the company, thanks to the masterful tutelage of Nick, to become an highly confident and assured tradesman in his own right and one of Granada's stalwarts. He has formed one of Granada’s most finely tuned building teams along with Tom and always brings his pleasant and reassuring demeanour to every extension/conversion project he is assigned to. Matt is very much Granada born and bred and his in-built passion for the work he carries out is guaranteed to be clear for you to see.
Our lead plumber/heating engineer Jimmy has plumbing since he left school at 16, at which time he embarked on his 4-year apprenticeship. Jimmy has been a fully qualified & gas safe registered plumber for over 14 years; almost half of this time has been spent plying his craft for us here at Granada Home Improvements. Throughout his very successful career to-date, Jimmy has worked on installations of all possible types of bathrooms, boilers, central heating, underfloor heating and much more, on all a vast array of project types including home extensions, loft conversions, garage conversions and on new build developments. One of Granada’s top master bricklayers, Graham works closely with his brother Steve as Granada’s principle bricklayers. Graham has been a bricklayer for 31 years, carrying out all kinds of bricklaying and building work along the way, which has rightly earned him a highly respected name all of his own within his profession. Graham strives for excellence and all projects he turns his vastly experienced hands to. He, like all of our tradesmen, treats each build as if it was his own home. What does Graham love most about his job? For Graham, that’s an easy answer! Above all else, it’s the satisfaction of doing a great job for the customers he’s delighted to meet on each and every project and he enjoys taking tremendous pride in the work he does.
A tremendously talented joiner, Oliver joined the Granada team in 2017. Oliver got his start in joinery and building work when went straight into his Levels 1 & 2 joinery apprenticeship after he left school, already sure at that stage that this was what I wanted to do. After gaining valuable experience working on various types of construction sites for a short while, Oliver then returned to college to carry out his Level 3 joinery training which he completed with the highest grades. Oliver is highly popular among customers and staff alike. He is also well known for his very precise approach to his joinery work. His mantra is that things must be done to the best standard, which puts him in a very similar mould to the rest of our tradesmen! Not only a highly accomplished joiner in his own right, Oli is also an excellent mentor to the younger lads on board, helping them not only to develop their skills but to understand the standards we all work to here at Granada. Polite, professional and punctual, you are in for a very smooth and easy experience if you are fortunate enough to have Oliver on your project.
Steve’s outstanding reputation in the building trade as a highly sought after master bricklayer really speaks for itself. There really is no type of building project which Steve has not had experience in. This wealth of experience and commitment to quality is something which Steve happily brings to each extension we carry out. A born tradesman and Warrington man, Steve has been bricklaying since he left school back in 1993 and his career to-date has taken in work on major building sites all across the Northwest. Steve has always found home extensions to be the most enjoyable work he has carried out, especially as he has the opportunity to see the impact he and our team get to have on our customers lives and the true improvement to their homes which our extensions provide. Steve joined the Granada team in 2015, and works alongside his brother Graham as well as the rest of our team. He loves to deliver a first class build each and every time.
Gareth joined our Granada ranks in 2019 and quickly proved to be a highly valuable addition to the team, working alongside our other highly experienced tradesmen. Born in Cardiff, Gareth started bricklaying at college at the age of just 17 and quickly discovered he had a natural ability for this type of work. He eventually moved to Stockport. Shortly after his move to Greater Manchester he started working in the domestic construction field, working for over a decade carrying out all aspects of brickwork and groundworks across the Northwest. What Gareth enjoys best about working in the domestic sector in which Granada operates is getting to see the amazing transformations our extension builds deliver and the delight on our customers’ faces, which is the best reward of all!
Granada’s top electrician Neil Franklin has been expertly lighting up Granada’s customers lives across our extensions, loft conversions and garage conversions over the last decade; fulfilling all their electrical requirements to above and beyond their highest expectations. Neil started his electrical apprenticeship at the age of just 17, completing all his necessary training and Part P professional certification. Over the course of his 25-year career to-date, which has taken in huge amounts of commercial, industrial as well as domestic residential work, Neil has carved out an outstanding reputation within our industry. It is thanks to his excellent professionalism, and especially his “anything is possible” approach to the job in-hand that he has carved out a superb name in his trade and is regarded as a highly sought-after master of his craft. One of Granada’s great assets, what you will especially enjoy is Neil’s friendly approach and his genuine enjoyment of his work. Neil strives to give the customer what they want each time and is only too happy to give his own ideas to help the project be as good as it possibly can be.
